Basketball is a fun sport, but it's also physically demanding. If you want to be a good basketball player, you'll need to practice and develop skills that will make you better than your opponents. Here are some tips for becoming a competent basketball player:

Practice dribbling with both hands. One of the most important skills to develop as a basketball player is dribbling with both hands. You'll want to practice this in the mirror and with a friend, so that you can see how it looks and feels. If you have access to a coach or mentor who can help guide your progress, even better!

Dribbling with both hands will make it easier for you to get open when defenders are guarding against one-handed dribbles; it also gives them less time to react when they do see what's coming next.

Correct your shooting form. To correct your shooting form, you must first understand how to properly shoot a basketball. The first step is to keep your elbow in and not let it flare out. This helps with accuracy and power of the shot. Next, spread out your fingers on the ball so that they are not overlapping each other or bent at an angle when gripping the ball. This will allow for better control over where you want to shoot from on the court as well as give more stability when releasing off of one foot or two feet (depending on what type of shot you're taking). Finally, keep your wrist straight while holding onto the ball before releasing it towards goal! If done correctly, this will create good rotation around both wrists which leads into increased accuracy because players don't have any extra movement going on during release time that could mess up their shot mechanics.

Take a break from basketball training when you're tired or injured. You can't become a competent basketball player if you're injured, so it's important to take a break from training when necessary.

When resting, it is important not to do anything that will strain or stress your body--this includes any physical activity and mental stress. Resting also means getting plenty of sleep every night (8-10 hours).

If you feel tired or sore after practice or a game, don't push yourself further into training until those feelings go away completely! If they don't go away within 24 hours then see a doctor because there might be something wrong with your body (and it won't get better by pushing through).

Learn to protect yourself You should wear protective gear when you play basketball. It's not just a good idea to protect yourself from injury, but also the ball. You don't want to get hit in the face with a basketball that is going at high speeds! There are many different types of protective gear that you can use during your games:

  • Knee braces - Running knee brace will help keep your knees safe and reduce injuries by reducing stress on them when playing sports like basketball or soccer

  • Elbow pads - These will protect both elbows from getting hurt during playtime activities such as throwing punches at each other while playing boxing games together

As we've seen, there are many ways to become a better basketball player. You can practice your shooting form, work on dribbling and passing skills with both hands, take breaks from training when you're tired or injured--and even learn how to protect yourself from injury by stretching properly before playing.
